The past 7 days have been filled with such pain and sadness for us - last Monday, our beautiful Bashy passed away, and yesterday, our handsome Bear joined her.
We knew both were ill - Bashy had her spleen removed last October and was given only weeks to live but she stayed for 8 months, bright as a button until her last day; and Bear had been suffering from a stricture in his bowel, which was getting progressively worse. After losing Bashy he deteriorated so quickly.
We spent the weekend spoiling him and taking him to his favourite places, but he let us know on Sunday evening that it was time, and he couldn't go on like that. So yesterday, we sat with him as he drifted off to be reunited with his big sister & extended family, once again pain free.

He was with us for 10 months and we were so proud of the dog we discovered within. He was one of our family. For the first time in years, we do not have a dog and the emptiness is unimaginable.

So sorry to hear your news, Kerryn and John, about Bashy and Bear; thinking of you both.

Rest in peace, Bashy and Bear.
