Riley is a very loving and playful dog who didn't have the best start in life, having been removed from a house where there was domestic violence between the poeple he lived with. Fortunately he was re-homed and has learnt to start trusting people again. However, he is generally nervous around people he doesn't know, especially in the home.

Riley does bark when people come to the house but he does respond to instruction and asking visitors to ignore him and avoid eye contact has always seemed to work and put him at ease.

Riley tends to ignore most people when he's out walking but if he is approached he will bark to warn but has never been aggressive.

Riley does like to play with other dogs but can be nervous if there are a number of them but if he makes a friend or two he's very happy to stay and play and he also loves to play with toys.

Riley is fine around children but may try and share bed space with them if encouraged!

Riley is an excellent companion and family dog but does need an experienced, confident owner to care for him.
